The North Carolina Advocates For Justice is made up of four distinct organizations:
The North Carolina Advocates For Justice is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization. The membership elects the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors consists of 30 members elected by the general membership, 16 section/division chairs elected by their group membership, and 11 Executive Committee members who are elected by the Board of Governors.
The North Carolina Advocates For Justice Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The North Carolina Advocates For Justice Executive Committee is the Board of the Foundation. The Foundation provides quality continuing legal education to attorneys across the state.
North Carolina Advocates For Justice Properties is a 501(c)(2) nonprofit organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Foundation created to hold the building owned by the North Carolina Advocates For Justice.
The North Carolina Advocates For Justice Political Action Committee is governed by the PAC Trustees, who are elected by the Board of Governors and other PAC Trustees. The NCAJ PAC makes endorsements in legislative and judicial races and advocates for the interests of trial lawyers in the state legislature.
